Granada FC would like to thank those people who have already delivered second hand boots to the club for a worthy cause for children in Uganda
Please see below for more information from Sadhbh O'Mahoney ,sister of Liam who plays for our U10s ,who is a student attending St Andrews College
I am looking to collect any used or worn football boots that members of
the club may have. In May I will be travelling to Uganda with my school
St. Andrews College. We will be visiting many places and learning about
the different people that live there. One place that we are visiting
is Good Shepards Fold orphanage. Most of the people here work in the
sugarcane plantations and are very poor. The children in the orphanage
love to play football but have no choice but to play in their bare
feet. That's why with your help we could collect some football boots for
these children to play with. This will result in them being able to play
freely as children without the risk of hurting themselves. It is amazing
how something like this will mean so much to them.'
Many Thanks
Sadhbh
There must be sheds and garages that have discarded boots in them and what better way to make use of them to give to these children who will be extremely grateful .Boots which must be clean and still wearable can be dropped into Les in the clubhouse over the next few weekends or to any Manager during weekday training .
